Can you believe we are at the end of January already?  As it is the end of the month we thought we would share our favourite moments from the month of ‘Song, Music and Poetry’ as part of the Year of History, Heritage and Archaeology.

Here are our top 3 favourite moments:

1. We filmed the ‘Music Man’ and Renaissance music expert Jim Tribble at Edinburgh Castle where he highlighted some of the instruments that would have been played at the castle.

2. Andrew Burnet in our Interpretation unit shared 21 Scottish poems that included some of our sites and shed a light on Scottish history. Poets named included Walter Scott, Hugh MacDiarmid and of course Robert Burns.

3. Stirling Castle shared a mysterious musical sequence with their Heads, Harps and Hidden Secrets blog.

As we move into February we welcome the next theme of ‘Royalty’. Keep watching @welovehistory for our plans!
